Helix-shaped wind turbine to go up at Progressive Field

Because Progressive Field ballpark did not have enough space to install a traditional three-blade wind turbine, officials for the Indians baseball team decided to pursue a new wind-deflecting structure design that was patented by the chairman of Cleveland State University's department of engineering technology, The Plain Dealer reports. The structure, which looks like "a fat corkscrew" and is scheduled to be operational by opening day, will feature multiple small-scale turbines that can "generate power at low wind speeds," the article said.
